What are CPDs?
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a portfolio structure for demonstrating, documenting, and tracking the skills, knowledge, and experience acquired by professionals beyond their initial certification date.
In order to support members earn their CPD credits, PECB continually organizes webinar sessions containing CPD credits, opportunities for writing articles, and chances for participating in training and events.

How long will the certification be valid?
PECB certificates are valid for three years. In order to maintain a PECB certificate, it is required to demonstrate that the candidate is performing certification related activities on annual basis. In addition, it is required to pay an Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF).
How long does it take for the certification process to be completed?
If your application has been completed successfully, and if your references have provided their response on time, then the certification process will take up to a week.
Information on the application status (accepted, rejected or additional information request) will be communicated to you through email.
Your certification process will take longer if your references do not respond on time.
How do I apply for PECB certificate after passing an exam?
When can I take the exam after finishing my course
You can take the exam at any time that suits you. Please check the available exam slots at the link provided on PECB.
How many attempts are allowed for the exam in total?
Total two attempts are there.
Can I see eLearning course sample video?
Absolutely yes, just need to checkout ISO 22301 eLearning Sample | PECB Store for free. And you can also have a look at course introduction ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer eLearning Training Course – YouTube as the quality of content and video will be same in real course.
Is there a set timeframe for completing self-study or eLearning courses?
There’s no specific deadline; you can complete the course at your own pace since access is lifelong. However, please note that the exam coupon code will be valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
When will I receive access to the course after placing my order?
We will process your order within 12 hours of placement. You will receive a notification from PECB via email, which will include instructions on how to access your course materials.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards, PayPal, Stripe and bank transfers. At checkout, you will have the option to choose your preferred payment method.

What is the timeframe for completion if I choose the self-study or eLearning mode of learning?
There isn’t a specific timeline, you can complete it at your convenience and availability. However, please note that the coupon code is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, so be sure to use it before it expires.
What should I do if I can’t find my country listed on the checkout page?
This could be due to authorization reasons. Feel free to send us your query, and we’ll investigate further.
Coupon Code
As there are fees for scheduling an online PECB exam and submitting a PECB certificate application, Partners will provide course participants with coupon codes through their PECB Partners Dashboard.
PECB course participants are provided with coupon codes, which depending on the event exam type, can be used for:
If the event exam type is paper-based, the coupon code is valid for:
Applying for the Certification if the exam is passed successfully;
If the event exam type is online, the coupon code is valid for:
Scheduling one first take online exam session;
Schedule one retake online exam session (if you have failed the first attempt);
Waive the Certificate application fee;
Participants will be provided with the coupon code via email from the PECB system, and in case the email is lost or not successfully delivered, the coupon code can also be found within the My Courses tab under the Coupon Code column.
The coupon code is bound to a specific PECB account and to a specific course. The coupon code cannot be used by another PECB account, nor for another PECB course.
Are PECB exams open-book or closed-book?
There are two PECB exam types:
Multiple choice closed-book where candidates are not allowed to use anything but the exam paper and a pen. Usually, Foundation and Transition exams are of this type.[1]
Essay type open-book where candidates are allowed to use the following reference materials:
A copy of the standard
Training course materials
Any personal notes made by the candidate during the training course
A hard copy dictionary

How to register for an exam?
To schedule PECB certification exams, candidates have two options:
Contact one of the PECB partners who provide training courses and exam sessions. To find a training course provider in a particular region, candidates should go to Active Partners. The PECB training course schedules are available on Training Events.
Take a PECB exam remotely from their home or any location they desire through the PECB Exam application, which can be accessed here: Exam Events.
To ensure equal opportunities for all qualified persons, PECB will make reasonable accommodations for candidates, when appropriate. If candidates need special accommodations because of a disability or a specific physical condition, they should inform the Partner/Distributor in order for them to make proper arrangements. Any information candidates provide regarding their disability/need will be treated with strict confidentiality.

What is the duration of an exam?
The duration of PECB exams varies depending on the certification exam taken:
Foundation exam: 1 hour
Manager exam: 2 hours
Lead-exam: 3 hours
If requested on the day of the exam (paper-based exams) additional time can be provided to candidates taking the exam in a non-native language
Foundation exam: 10 additional minutes
Manager exams: 20 additional minutes
Lead-exams: 30 additional minutes

What is KATE?
KATE is an application that allows you to access PECB course materials. It requires you to login with your PECB account. Additionally, you can also send comments/feedback on course material and make personal notes.
How to get access to training material in KATE
After you have enrolled to a PECB course, please contact your training provider and ask them to assign the training course material to your PECB user account.
Once the training provider has assigned the course material to your PECB user account, please follow our KATE Manuals, which explain how to access the training course material accordingly.
Can I update my email address?
Yes. Even after you merge the accounts, you will still be able to update the email address associated with your PECB account. You can do so under the Profile tab at your myPECB Dashboard.
If you have lost access to your PECB Account, please contact us at information.security@pecb.com.
What is my PECB ID Number?
Besides the email address associated with your PECB account, you can also use the ID Number as a username when logging in our system. Your ID Number is unique, linked to your account and it cannot be changed.
The ID number cannot be used as a username when logging into KATE. To log in to KATE, please use the email address associated to your PECB Account.
How many types of PECB multiple-choice exams are available?
There are two types of multiple-choice exams:
Open-book where the candidates are allowed to use the following reference materials:
A hard copy of the exam-related ISO standard
Training course materials (accessed through PECB Exams app and/or printed)
Any personal notes taken during the training course (accessed through PECB Exams app and/or printed)
A hard copy dictionary
Closed book, where candidates are not allowed to use anything but the exam paper and a pen for paper based, while for online, the exams are provided electronically via the PECB Exams application.
Note: Essay-type exams will be gradually transitioning to multiple-choice, open-book exams.
How to pay my Annual Maintenance Fees (AMF)?
A PECB Certificate requires the payment of the maintenance fee. The annual reporting begins with the initial certification date.
PECB continuously notifies each PECB Professional to maintain their certificate(s). The notifications are sent several times throughout the certification cycle. The first one is sent three months before the annual certificate issuance date. The annual maintenance fee can be paid online through your dashboard, by logging here (www.pecb.com/login), clicking My Certifications, and then the Submit AMF button.
I forgot my password and or credentials of my PECB Account
If you have forgotten your password for any type of PECB Account, simply click the Forgot Password link.
By entering your email address or ID Number to which the account is registered, a reset password link will be sent to your email address.
If you are facing delays in receiving a reset password link, please contact us by dropping a service ticket.
My login email is not accepted
PECB Account:
Please make sure to log in with the email address associated with your PECB Account or your ID Number.
Trainer Account:
If you have become a PECB Certified Trainer after 2018-10, then your PECB Account and Trainer Accounts are linked with the same pair of credentials. Simply use the profile switcher at the top-bar of your PECB Dashboard to switch from one profile to another.
If you have become a PECB Certified Trainer before 2018-10, and you are not able to access your Trainer Dashboard, please contact our Customer Service team by dropping a support ticket
PECB Auditor
A PECB MS Auditor is a person who is authorized to conduct audits on behalf of PECB.

How do I decide which courses should I take?
PECB’s extensive catalogue of training courses presents a vast number of professional development opportunities for individuals to sharpen their skills and optimize business operations. Select the relevant subject to determine which training course is right for you. PECB official trainings include Introduction, Foundation, Lead Implementer, Lead Auditor, and Manager Courses. How do I register for a specific course?
To register for one of our courses, please click here, and filter on the course you are interested in. You can make additional selections such as country, city, language or date. If you find a course that you are interested in, simply click: “Enroll Now” to sign up for the course. Please note that the registration has to be done with a course provider, and in order to book a seat, you must create an account with PECB (click here to sign up for free).

What is the content of the training?
There is a combination of class work exercises, real-life experience discussions, observation, homework, practical application, and study. All our courses are intensive and they enable the participants to develop the expertise necessary to support an organization in optimizing its business operations, implementing and/or auditing management systems, managing different programs etc.
CPD credits and appraisal
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) refers to the process of tracking professional learning activities engaged in advancing and improving both abilities and experience. Engaging in CPD activities proves that both theoretical and applied qualifications are always maintained. It empowers learning and self-development to become proactive rather than passive, on an ongoing basis.
We recognize the importance of providing CPD credits; therefore, a convenient and flexible way to earn such credits is by attending our live webinars, all focused on improving and delivering effective professional development.
PECB issues CPD credits for:
People who attend our biweekly webinars (1 CPD credits)
PECB Resellers and Trainers who attend PECB Reseller WebinarsAttend one day only (3 CPD credits)
Attend two days (6 CPD credits)
Please note that we issue CPD credits to the participants who attend more than 60% of the webinar. To be issued a certificate of attendance and gain the CPD credits, please contact us at marketing@pecb.com.
What is a webinar and how often is it organized?
A webinar is a live online web-based educational, informative, or instructional seminar which connects the presenter to a global online audience, through a video or audio component. It is a two-way process which allows participants to engage live with the presenter and create a high degree of interaction by submitting their questions, comments, and suggestions.
PECB organizes different webinar campaigns. These webinars are held on a biweekly basis with a one-hour presentation consisting of different topics related to different fields.
